Vision
Light, shadows, and projections are events that occur in our daily sphere; for example, light spattered on the sidewalk, or the beauty of sunlight flickering through the leaves of a tree. The appreciation and awareness of these small but powerful experiences bring us into the present. As light moves through our spaces; it acknowledges what is in front of, behind and around it by way of projection, reflection and refraction. For as long as I can remember, I have found solace in these subtle qualities of light.
In my work, my goal is to reiterate and frame these light events within an art context. My work presents, amplifies, and contains subtle, natural events which would otherwise be lost in our busy lives. Using light as a direct metaphor for the spiritual presence, I create sculptural installations which immerse the viewer in a contemplative experience. This work is my response to our cluttered world.
